Editorial Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
DAANCE Prep is an independent educational platform for the Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification Examination (DAANCE). We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by AAOMS, DANB, PSI, or any official certifying body. This policy describes how we create, review, and maintain our content.
Our Editorial Principles
Source-Grounded Content
All practice questions, flashcards, and study materials are aligned with the current AAOMS DAANCE Study Guide and established clinical references (AHA ACLS/PALS guidelines, manufacturer drug labels, and peer-reviewed anesthesia literature).
Clinical Review Process
Clinically sensitive content — including drug dosages, emergency protocols, and ECG interpretation — is flagged for review and labeled with its review status. Items not yet reviewed by a licensed clinician are clearly marked. No content is auto-published without human oversight of clinical accuracy.
Regular Updates
Content is reviewed on a recurring schedule. Each page displays a "last reviewed" date so users know when the information was last verified. We update content when the AAOMS Study Guide changes, when new clinical guidelines are published, or when user feedback identifies an error.
Error Reporting
Every practice question rationale and AI tutor response includes a "Report an error" link. User-reported errors are reviewed by our editorial team, and corrections are published promptly when verified.
Content Creation
Practice questions, flashcards, ECG materials, and study guides are created by the DAANCE Prep editorial team. Some content may be drafted with AI assistance, but all clinically sensitive content is reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI-generated content that has not been reviewed is labeled "Review Required" and is not deployed as verified content.
Clinical Review Status
Each clinically sensitive item carries one of the following review statuses:
- Pending Review: Newly created content not yet audited.
- Review Required: Auto-flagged for human review (e.g., contains drug dosages or emergency protocols).
- Reviewed — Approved: A human editor has verified the content for accuracy.
- Reviewed — Rejected: A human editor found an error; the item is corrected or removed.
- Needs Revision: Flagged for rework based on user feedback or guideline changes.
Items not reviewed by a licensed clinician are clearly labeled. DAANCE Prep does not claim that its content has been medically reviewed by licensed clinicians unless specifically noted on the content.
Source Attribution
Our content is grounded in the following primary sources:
- AAOMS DAANCE Study Guide (current edition) — the authoritative outline for exam content.
- AAOMS.org — official DAANCE examination information, eligibility, and fees.
- American Heart Association — ACLS and PALS emergency protocol guidelines.
- Manufacturer drug labels and package inserts — for drug dosages, contraindications, and administration routes.
- Peer-reviewed anesthesia and dental literature — for clinical concepts and best practices.
Every medical topic page on DAANCE Prep lists its primary sources in a visible "Editorial Standards & Review" badge.
Content Updates & Review Schedule
Each page displays a "last reviewed" date. Content is reviewed:
- When the AAOMS DAANCE Study Guide is updated
- When new clinical guidelines (e.g., AHA ACLS updates) are published
- When user feedback identifies a potential error
- On a recurring basis (at minimum, every 12 months for clinically sensitive content)
No Medical Advice
All content on DAANCE Prep is for educational and exam-preparation purposes only. It is not medical advice and does not replace clinical training, institutional protocols, manufacturer instructions, or the judgment of appropriately licensed healthcare professionals. Clinical decisions must always be based on current authoritative sources and professional judgment.
No Exam Result Guarantee
Use of DAANCE Prep does not guarantee any examination score, passing result, or certification. Exam outcomes depend on many factors, including individual effort, study habits, and clinical experience.
Reporting an Error
If you find an error in our content, use the "Report an error" link on the relevant page or email daanceprep@gmail.com. Our editorial team reviews all reports and publishes corrections promptly when verified.
